About Jen: As a surfer. I am drawn to the water daily. As an artist, I daily draw the water I love. I photograph surf whenever possible. I use some of those photos to draw my inspiration. Some of the photos are simply awe inspiring! Thank you to all of you out there in the water!
Jen will do custom artwork on your surfboard too! Jen will be at Paradise painting on surfboards during the month of September so come on down and meet Jen and check out her amazing artwork. If you can’t make it to Paradise, check Jen out on the web at www.maddogjen.com.
Kelli Williams

About Kelli: Kelli is a professional photographer and founder of My Surf Pics.com. Kelli started shooting surf related photography at Santa Cruz events and competitions and has been collecting shots of surfers at favorite surf destinations such as Steamer Lane and Cowell’s for years. Finally, by establishing a relationship as the only consistent photographer shooting first-time surf lessons at Cowell’s, My Surf Pics.com was born. The company motto is, “if you’ll surf it…we’ll shoot it.” Designed for the surfer in us all, the website is surfer friendly and easy to use. Check it out at www.seeyousmilephotography.com.

WOMEN ON WAVES 2006 netted $10,000 to give to charities. The 10th Annual Women on Waves Longboard Surf Fest, held on April 8, 2006, in between rain storms, was graced with sunshine and waves and lots of smiling faces.
Thanks to our major sponsors Surf Tech, Hotline Wetsuits, Newman’s Own Organics, Toyota of Santa Cruz, and Scion of Santa Cruz and to all the sponsors who donated products and services to our fundraiser, we were able to raise $10,000 for our charities at this year’s event.

A check for $3,000 was given to the West Wind Surf Club Barry Hamby Cabrillo College Scholarship Fund. This scholarship fund provides a deserving surfer/student with funds for tuition and books for two years.
The remaining $7,000 was divided evenly between WomenCARE and Women’s Crises Suppport-Defensa de Mujeres. These two worthy organizations have been assisting Santa Cruz County women through trying times and are to be commended for their continued positive contribution to our community.

It is my hope that the young women who participate in the Surf Fest recognize they they are contributing to organizations that help women in need and that they become role models for the young surfers that follow in their footsteps to participate in community events like Women on Waves.
A huge thank you to all the sponsors, contestants, volunteers, and spectators who helped us run this event for the 10th year.
We are looking for a new leader to take over the Surf Fest. After 10 years of dedication to this event, Sally wants to retire as executive director. We need an enthusiastic, well organized surfing event planner. The process is already nailed down – you just have to make it happen. Call Sally at Paradise Surf Shop 831-462-3880 if you would like to take on this fun and rewarding event. For more information on Women on Waves visit the web site at, www.surfwomenonwaves.com.
