 Maia Negre is a 25 year old self-taught artist. She was raised in the San Francisco area, and born of Chinese and French decent. She has been painting since the age of 17, inspired by the stunning beauty of Santa Cruz and the Central Coast. Incorporating her love for surfing into her work, Maia has been commissioned to paint everything from beach houses to tropical visions. Currently, Maia creates one-of-a-kind originals, art pieces for client’s homes, sells limited edition prints, and she creates artwork for local Santa Cruz clothing companies. In the past year, she has participated in over seven art shows and events, displaying and selling her work from Capitola to Pacifica.
Maia is currently working on her bachelor’s of fine art at San Jose State University, as well as doing a minor in business.
Maia’s portfolio continues to expand with the support of her clients, their creative inspirations, and her continuing art education.

WOMEN ON WAVES LOOKING FOR NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - We are looking for a new leader to take over the Surf Fest. After 10 years of dedication to this event, Sally wants to retire as “The Voice of WOW”. We need an enthusiastic, well organized surfing event planner to take on the job of Executive Director. The process is already nailed down – you just have to make it happen. Gain exposure for your business and score some major good karma points by putting on this well loved local surf event. This event raises funds for WomenCARE, Women’s Crisis Support Center, and the Barry Hamby Memorial Scholarship Endowment at Cabrillo College.
